AL was convicted of inappropriately touching the child of a former romantic partner. We appealed the conviction on the basis that the Trial Judge had failed to consider serious contradictions in the child's testimony, while at the same time using very minor discrepancies in AL's evidence to discredit him. The appeal was granted from the bench (a rare result), and the Crown later withdrew the charges rather than proceed to a re-trial.

Mr. Black came to us after a conviction but before sentencing. We were able to demonstrate that his trial counsel had provided ineffective assistance, and his conviction was vacated. At the re-trial, we obtained an acquittal.

We represented Mr. Singh on Appeal after trial counsel failed to advise the Court of potential immigration consequences that would have led to deportation. We were able to ensure that his sentence was reduced and he stayed in Canada.
